I'm new to this. Just bought a used TRD Off Road with KDSS and Icon Stage 2 suspension.
Just discovered that the track bar can make contact with the kdss when you have an icon lift. I checked my 4runner and it appears there has been some contact (scuff mark visible on track bar).
I watched a video on installing Icon's version of the track bar to fix this, but it appears that may allow contact at different point, so...doesn't seem like a great solution.
How important/dangerous is this? Do I need to get this fix or is it not a major concern?
I do not think the Icon one is required I believe many run it without. Though the stock one has its limitations but I believe its not that big of a deal.
Thanks - I saw that article earlier but just skimmed it. Looks like there is a workable solution if I want to pursue it. I would guess that most people running icons with kdss have this issue? But the lack of info makes me think the contact ultimately won't do much damage...hopefully!
Here's what my bar looks like, for reference. Does this look like dangerous damage is being done? Looks like a minor surface scrape to me. What is the purpose of the track bar? What would happen if it bent or broke?
