Bad ball joint after lift

5th Gen. Got the Eibach Pro-Truck lift which is like a 2.75"/1.25" inch lift, but also did the UCAs which was not necessary per Eibach (JBAs). 22,000 miles on the lift and I lost the driver's side ball joint. 104k miles on the truck. Been very happy with the setup.

I don't do the work myself. I took it in to my shop describing a new intermittent "clunking rattle" sound over bumps most frequent in the speed range of 15-30mph.

Mall crawler/light duty off road use.

JBA backed up their product and is sending me 2 new UCAs since it fell within the 1 year time frame for the warranty. No issue at all there, and kudos to them -- they made it very easy.

Just wondering, for those that know more than me about suspensions etc. (which is most on here) -- that "clunking rattle" that is heard seems to be more from the passenger side, but it was the driver's side ball joint that is bad. Also, I have no idea if a bad ball joint gives off that sort of symptom -- or is there possibly something else that could be going on? Second, should I assume that the part was just defective, or is there something else I need to do with my lift to take pressure off those ball joints that I didn't have done before?

TIA.

Im not super knowledgable on suspension, but have you been greasing the ball joint? I thought it was recommended to do every time you change the oil.

Yes, regularly.
