ARB Twin Compressor - NEED HELP
Hey everybody!
I’m in need of help. I’ve seen a fair number of posts about compressors, how to wire them, where to mount them etc but nothing really touches on the problem I’m having.
So I just got the arb twin compressor and have it wired up. It will turn on and put out some air but when I go to inflate the tires, they actually end up deflating. My Viair portable comp puts out way more air so clearly I’m doing something wrong. Wtf!! I’m at a total loss.
I’m using the Rago mount that goes right behind the stock battery. It took me a while because I’m definitely new to the wiring world but it finally turned on. I followed the instructions for the power running to the compressor from the battery ( I have an odyssey deep cycle battery ). Both red wires with fuses to battery positive. Both the large and small black wires to battery negative.
This is where I changed things up a bit. I never intend to run a front locker and I would rather have a switch under the hood instead of in the cab. So instead of going through the trouble of taping up the solenoid connectors and trying to stuff all the wires for the 3 switches somewhere, I chose to cut all of that off. What I am left with are the black and purple wires that run into the compressor. I followed those wires on the schematic provided by arb and saw that they go to the red and black wires which in turn go to the power and ground on the isolation switch. To wrap this up I ran the purple wire to a blue sea breaker and then to the battery positive terminal. I ran the black wire to the battery negative terminal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been messing with this for the past day and a half. I’m guessing it’s user error but I’m not sure what else to try.
Thanks in advance and I hope everyone is having a great holiday.
