TireRack comparison: BFG KO2 vs. ATs

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests...y.jsp?ttid=249

LT-C BFG KO2 vs. P-metric Destination A/T2 vs. P-metric Dynapro AT2 vs. P-metric Yoko Geolander G015.

Surprisingly, KO2s did pretty good...quiet, handles decently even in wet (!!), and NOT the worst in fuel economy! Impressive considering that it is by far the best off-road tire of the bunch.

Geolander did surprisingly well. Seems like a solid pick for most daily driver / weekend warrior applications.

I think the main take away from the KO2 is they tested a C load range. I would have loved to see them include an E load range as well to compare, I suspect the results would have been a lot worse.

BFG really does need to expand the size availability for the C load range options.

For me, BFG needs to expand D-range, which is what i have on my LC. The problem with Load Range C is that i think the sidewall is only 2-ply. And if i am going to sacrifice on-road stuff by getting BFG KO2, then i better have the whole protection package that comes with getting KO2.

Yoko G015 (in LT-range) was my (very close) 2nd choice after KO2 BUT according to test above, it's fuel economy is dismal!! The P-metric G015 is worst than KO2.......so, i am assuming LT G015 is even worst than that!

So, it looks like i made the right choice going with KO2 for my use purpose.
