Jason, your price is fantastic in comparison to alot of the other kits out there. Im putting in my order tomorrow when i get paid..
I want this thing bad.
As for those waiting for K&N...you are going to be waiting quite some time. While they have made the effort to start a kit, but I dont expect to see theirs out on the market for months. In addition, Im a bit skeptical of K&N's intakes after seeing the number of CEL/SES light issues (including stalling/sputtering) that happened on both of their intakes for the 01-06 BMW M3.

i have heard of them from time to time with american trucks....my buddy had their kit on his vette and really liked it.
He never had issues with their filters. Im willingn to try any other filter other than K&N these days after seeing their over oiling issues with MAFs on certain applications.

True that...I'm buying the Volant just because K&N ignored us for so long. So take that K&N

http://www.volantperformance.com/frkit.asp
man i like this kit i just wsh i had a little more info on volant...even a dyno on the site would be great
16 hp would be great....1 - 1 1/2 mpg....bonus!

The volant uses a filter that is washable and re-useable, but uses thicker pleats, more layers of the cotton guaze for better filtering and this gives better airflow than others.
The K&N isn't going to be a true "sealed system" like the volant is, it will be open ended. The volant pulls in from the fender well, and in from the front. This gives you two inlets of cool air. This does yield more power typically especially when it's hot in the summer.
I sell both brands of product, and K&N used to be the best on the market. WIth others competing this isn't always the case anymore.

Jason,
im with you on this one, K&N used to have the market cornered back in the day and as such I think they have gotten lazy. They provide a great kit for what it is, but as you point out, its an open element making power with only larger flow rates and less restrictive bends. As such K&Ns are really not CAI..but HAI (hot air intakes).
My only question is that; does Volant use a pannel filter or is it a connical filter in their intakes? It seems as if they do use larger area conicals but other than pictures of some of their Primo Diesel filters, I cant find a place where they actually show a cone filter in the box.

So is the made to order one you are selling the same part# 18747 that Volant lists on their website? I think I'm going to wait until a few of you install yours to see if there are any problems.
