2020 TRD Offroad wheels lug nut torque specs

Hi All,

I wanted to check that the tire place I got my new tires put on torqued the lugs to the correct specs. I looked in my manual and did some searching but want some confirmation. Are my TRD off road wheels supposed to be 76 or 83 foot pounds? It says in the manual steel rims 83 and aluminum 76. The off road wheels are alloy I believe.

Thanks

76 ft lbs on my SR5P wheels. I assume the TRDOR wheels are built to the same specs. I've torqued to 76 for almost 60,000 miles with never a lug nut issue.

I just put on wheel locks and tightened with the wrench in the jackwell.

Don't really want to buy a torque wrench...am I doing it wrong?

Too tight can warp rotors over time.

Torque wrench is pretty much necessary if you plan to do some maintenance on your vehicle.

I'm never a fan of using the impact and calling it a day or guessing.

Even with torque wrench tighten them 3/4 value (about 50 ft/lbs) in star pattern and only then finish all at full value (76 or 81 whichever is applicable)..

I have seen conflicting information. The owner's manual for my SR5P states 76 lb ft for aluminum and 83 lb ft for steel. The product information instructions in the box with the TRD Pro Wheels (aluminum) state 83 lb ft. So, I torque my extra wheel set (SR5 aluminum) to 76 and the TRD Pro aluminum wheels and the steel spare to 83.

The Toyota studs will stretch at anything over 85 ft/lbs and will likely break during your install at anything over 90 ft/lbs. I would definitely not use an impact wrench when installing Toyota wheels.
