Hub Centric Rings?

Hi All,

I have SCS 17" F5s on my truck (F5 – STEALTH CUSTOM SERIES™). They are Hubcentric wheels. I then added Spidertrax WHS007 Wheel Spacer (Amazon.com: Spidertrax WHS007 Blue Wheel Spacer Kit : Automotive). I did this two years ago in Nov 2019.

The past few months I have been getting a bit of shake in the wheel at 60 MPH+ and a lot of squeaking from the wheels when I turn the steering wheel or go over small bumps. I took the truck in to the dealership for its regularly scheduled maintained and asked them to take a look at the squeaking steering.

The tech came back and said I need Hub Centric Rings. I assumed because the wheels are hubcentric and the spacer model I bought is for the 4Runner that everything was tight. Anyone else use rings when running spacers?

Edit: I spoke with SCS and they stated that since their rims are hubcentric, I do not need the rings. The spacer are also hubcentric so I doubt this is the issue. I guess I will take it to a shop other than the dealership and see what they say.

K

you sure its not a wheel bearing going out? have you check your spacers and see if it needs to be re-tighten, some say spacers are good, some says they cause the wheel to fly off.
