I can't deceide... Alpine or Clarion?

I am looking at two head units...

Clarion DXZ775USB
and
Alpine CDA-9885

My 4Runner has the JBL single disk with 10 speakers system, I have the Metra Kit to install it.

My Goals:
- Easy use of Ipod
- Steering wheel contorls
- Sat Radio (future item)
- Playing an MP3 disk is a plus

- My budget is right around $350, so the AVIC-D3 is out of the question. I am also looking for a head unit that has Red/Orange display option.

Is there any other suggestions?

out of those two I would personally go with the alpine. They have great HU. The sound quality on them is great also.

personally, I love alpine's stuff. They are very simple, and sleek. Great sound quality, and they have a very good reputation. I've never had a problem with them, and they've got the best lookin head unit on the market. Simple yet rather elegant if you ask me, and that's why I believe Benz, BMW, Audi etc etc use alpine for their "Premium Sound" package from the factory.

I have the Alpine 9885, ordered it from Crutchfield and I love it. The ipod connection is slick and it sounds great. I did a bunch of research on headunits before I bought and nothing could complete with the Alpine for what I wanted.

Alpine is all I will use. I wouldnt use a Clarion for a drink coaster, let alone try to use it as a stereo in my ride.

From the research I have done, Apline is like the USB of accessories. They have most as well as use Ai Net to connect. You can pretty much connect any number of devices. That being said along with Alpines reputaion...you have your answer.

I have used Apline products for 10+ years. I have never had a bad product yet.

- Easy use of Ipod - $29 cable
- Steering wheel contorls - PAC SWI-JACK
- Sat Radio (future item) - Pick you poison
- Playing an MP3 disk is a plus - do not need due to Ipod

thanks for all the input. I ended up with a Alpine CDA-9885. I am waiting on a few pieces to come in.
