Arrow Adding aftermarket speakers to OEM JBL headunit

Yeah, I know ANOTHER post about this subject. Well, my concerns aren't about what brand everybody is using or what size to use. I've done my homework and have it narrowed down a bit with those regards.

I currently have the 2007 OEM navigation in my runner and want to gradually upgrade the sound system (gradually for economic reasons). I'm planning on replacing the speaks first, to include the sub, and eventually replace the head with an aftermarket for expandibility reasons, etc.

My question is about using aftermarket speaks in the JBL system which is made for speakers with much different specs than standard aftermarket car speaks (4 ohm). Since the JBL speaks are roughly 2 & 3 ohm speakers, won't the sound output from the aftermarket speakers be approx half of the OEM's due to this impedance difference?

Please reply if you've done the swap and let me know how it was for you.

Thanks!

Has anybody experienced this? Am I correct about it being quieter? Come on guys. I know there's a lot of people who have changed out their speakers here....

i haven't changed the speakers yet in my T4R, but from experience in other vehicles with similar systems aftermarket speakers are usually louder and clearer. they are much more efficient than stock speakers and higher quality, so even with less wattage getting to them, they produce a better sound.
