So, I have a few questions. Looking at a 50qt fridge/freezer combo, such as the National Luna NL 50 linked below.
50L Legacy Fridge/Freezer – Equipt Expedition Outfitters
1) Can I just plug the thing directly into the AC power port in the back of the truck and turn the port on from the front? Can the port handle the load?
2) I know that the fridge will turn off when the truck stops, because the outlet is switched. With that in mind (and because I want some portable power), could I put something like a Goal Zero Yeti 500X (linked below) in the middle and run the fridge off it directly?

So AC port in back plugs in and charges the Goal Zero which then outputs and charges the fridge? I know that the GZ is capable of simultaneously charging and discharging, but don't know if this is at all practical or realistic.
I know that the fridge will keep stuff cold for a few hours, even if unplugged, but I figure that if I stop somewhere and turn off the truck, the GZ could keep it going while the truck is off for a while.
And I could pull one or both out of the truck at a campsite and have some portable power with the truck off.
I just don't know enough about both to be able to call whether this would work or not. I suppose the correct way to do the fridge would be somehow to hardwire it to the battery, but I figured I'd ask if I can do something like this as a basic power management system. At least until I do a dual battery setup.
