Recommendations for Suspension install in New Orleans area/Northshore

Hi guys,

I am a soon to be 2021 TRD Off Road premium owner. I am looking into the Bilstein 5100 or the 6100 suspension kits.

Does anyone have any recs to install the system? I am a newbie when it comes to 4x4 and off road stuff.

Thanks

Did the same set up on my 2020 TRD ORP. Got the suspension through Yotamafia. No regrets other than ordering the “heavies” for the rear springs. WAY too much for a rig with nothing on it. I’ve added a some stuff but, swapped them out to medium springs for now until I start adding more weight/towing in the rear. And I’ve got about an 1” positive lean... only cause I’ve got an SSO front bumper/Winch.

Had a mechanic friend at a local Toyota dealer install the suspension for me.

Thanks for that. My ORP also has the KDSS but I haven't read about any issues installing around that. I am assuming you mean about 1 inch forward lean as you come to a stop with the front bumper?

How does it corner? Maybe the KDSS will firm that up a bit in mine.... when I get it.

On the lean part... no, my stance isn’t level. I’m an 1” lower up front. I just need heavier springs. But not messing with that unless I go dual battery. Sorry, I wasn’t clear.

And I don’t have KDSS. Considered it, but at the time I ordered mine, there wasn’t one in the Gulf region. Plus, if you really want to mod the suspension, body lift, etc., KDSS can limit the mods.

However, KDSS or not, you will firm up your ride with something other than those stock shocks!

I have a 2022 with KDSS and have been told by many experts to be very careful when trying to modify the suspension. It is next to impossible because of the way the suspension is designed and if you can it may be throwing the sensors out of whack. I'm still looking to lift the front an inch or so and will keep you posted.
