This isn't the only tire that has sizes where it takes an LT version to get the three snowflake rating. I found tirerack.com the best for answering this question.
As for northerners that is a bit broad. It may matter for places like the Sierras in NorCal where there can be chains or 3 snowflake requirements. Up here in the Canadian border country nobody cares.
