Toyo for Toyota

We ran with Toyo tires for several cycles but last time we needed tires, money was tight and my wife found a really good deal from PepBoys on a set of Coopers. Memorial Day is coming, so it'd be a good weekend to check for local sales.

I have a set of Cooper Discoverers that came with the truck, they are actually not bad on rock or loose dirt when aired down. They are also fairly quiet on the road, I did not have them since new, however.

The.Coopers have a more aggressive tread block than the Wildpeak AT3 and better sipping and I am considering a set in 255/80 R17 but all tires in that size are E rated.

Tire choice really depends on purpose and weight/load and speed in my experience

I bought Toyo ATIIIs in 255/80/17 for our latest 4500 mile cross country trip. Did not need a new alignment. Terrain was dirt washed out roads and alot of highway.
Little noise but nothing compared to the fatter M/S tires I had. These tires are great, but they were my second choice. I had wanted the Ridge Grapplers but none to be found where I live.

Purpose and budget dictate everything. Mickey T tire have come a long ways in 20 years. Much better molds now create more consistency. They were strictly offroad back in the day, now focusing on the on/offroad and overlanding folks, this MTZ P3 looks to be a pretty go contender.
