R/T Tires??

I did a quick search but didn't really see any titles with this topic, so hopefully I'm not flooding the forum. If so, feel free to delete.

Anyways..........I just left the commercial trucking industry and I'm back working at a regular car/truck shop. These past several years, somehow I have just never heard of this All Terrain - Mud Terrain "Hyrbrid" called an R/T tire lol

Anyone ever buy these before? If so, what make/model did you get for your ride? I'm riding on Milestar Patagonia M/T's at the moment because they came with the rims I bought off a friend, but instead of going back to A/T I'm now starting to be intrigued and interested in trying out some of these R/T tires when the time comes.

I only live 1 mile from work, so my road time is about to be cutdown dramatically compared to my previous 45 mile commute, but obviously still want a great tread for the dunes, mountains and everywhere else I go here in Southern California.

So yea, LET'S TALK ABOUT R/T "HYBRID" TIRES lol

Just a pretty in depth article talking about this new breed

Several big tire manufacturers are making them Nitto Ridge Grappler, Kenda Klever, Toyo Open Country, Arturo Trail Blade, Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac, Cooper ST Maxx. Plus a lot of smaller companies. Federal, Radar, Predator...

I ran the Kenda Klever in the 35/10.5/17 R/T. Not only is a terrific "mall crawler" aggressive looking tire, it absolutely killed everything I threw at it last year in a 348 mile off road tour through NM, CO, & UT. Mud, snow, ice, fine dirt, all sized rocks, wet rocks, wet road, you name it. Aired down to 9psi on AEV Salta wheels (best offroading wheel made for JKU's) with zero difficulty. Side walls are amazing grabbers.

After about 10k miles, they did begin to make a little more noise than when new, but not nearly as noisy as a lot of M/T's out there. Better than KO2's as an all around. When these current tires die, I plan to go to the ST Maxx's as my next R/T.

appreciate the feedback, definitely makes me want to go R/T with my next set of tires even more so now lol -- yea I was browsing tires on our wholesale site and saw a lot of the usual models with A/T & M/T also have R/T for a whopping like 4 bucks more per tire lol

Since we have a section devoted to Tires and Wheels, I'm moving this there.
