Well, I think I figured it out for myself. They appear to be Tuff Country UCAs. This is unfortunate, as I have read in this thread that they are less than desirable:

I'm guessing that the ripped boots are due to the Tacoma-spec ball joints that they use and that they get driven deeper in the spindle mount and deform the boots.
If cash allows it, I think I'm going to put JBAs in to replace them, as alignment was sub-optimal and now I know why. Per the review above, the JBAs put it right where it should be with my 3" of lift.
