Faulkner Wildpeaks AT3 rubbing question

I have a ‘22 ORP, and just got a set of 275/70/R17’s in the Wikdpeak AT3’s. I saw they were rubbing a little, and asked a friend to trim em. On the right side, there’s a pump or something behind the cover, which is now partially exposed.. is all that going to get damaged from snow and rain? Sorry about the photo, it keeps rotating it 90º CCW.

I have the exact same issue with my Wildpeaks on 275s! IMO, regardless of the cover, those things are exposed on a regular basis so you are fine!
