Hey Guys if anyone wants an opinion on winter / snow tires, Ive tried different tires so far, on my 2020, and now 2024 4R TRDOF and I've found the best tires to date
Ive had
Cooper M+S
Cooper AT3 (not a snow /winter tire i know)
Hankook tires
and now Michelin X-ice snow, these are the best damn tires Ive had on this truck.
With the cooper ties no matter how much snow /slush / ice was built up on the road, always had to put it in 4H on the pavement to make sure i didnt break the tires lose. On the trails sometimes I had to use 4L over simple obstacles as they did not provide enough grip until i aired down significantly and break out the shovel etc.
BUT these Michelin X-ices are something else!!!
In situations where i had to shift into 4H with snow tires on snow/ slush built up on pavement to stop the truck from breaking traction; with these Michelins i can keep the truck in 2WD drive and not break traction even with a bit of aggressive acceleration, whereas both coopers did lose traction with the same amount of throttle input.
I recommend X-ice tires 100%
On the trail where i would have to use 4H and 4L, I can get away with 2wd if i have momentum... 4H with these michelins are not a problem at all!
These X-ice tires are 100% worth the price....
