I sure hope you didn’t associate the OP’s “poverty” comment with race, as that would be racist.

Cheap Chinese made tires isn’t a racist statement, it’s a reference to the inferior quality of tires from overseas.

Please don’t try to make a vehicle forum into a “woke” disaster area.

No, because he said cheap Chinese tires. I doubt anybody could argue the fact that Chinese tires are cheap/inexpensive. Feelings are another matter. IMHO facts don’t care about feelings.

Although I think the OP has left the chat, my additional 2 cents are that he is being cheap and only looking at price and not consequences.

First step I would do in his shoes are step away from the keyboard and go get some new tires. Period. All of his hemming and hawing over the manufacturer code, age of his tires and the fact that the sidewalls are seriously compromised don’t address his situation.

He needs to put on his big boy pants and get tires. I certainly hope he isn’t riding on those tires or the other set of (bad) tires on the roads. He’s putting himself and his family as well as others in danger.

Sometimes, you gotta suck it up and be a man.

The "R8" in your code means your tire was made in the Sumitomo plant in Thailand.
