How far is your drive going to be?.... and freeway driving?
The yakima cross bars are great for support but the flexing of the 8 feet long sheets is what I would be concerned with. Can't you lift the back, put the passenger seats down and lay down the sheets in the back? Check the width to see if the 4' sheets ill fit. If so, tie the hatch down and attach a red flag to the end of the sheets. Sorry if this is no help to you.
