What made you return the Pioneer?

so wait...the new trim that goes around the Urban runner won't fit with a pioneer z-xxxx nav screen? if so... what modifications are necessary for it to fit? what nav units would fit besides the eclipse/tomtom unit?

My metra 8210 (along with someone else on the board) would not fit the Z series pioneer without cutting the top and bottom. Basically only the "sides" fit...

I dont know about the UR trim..

Oh, I see, I see. Anyone have any experience with the UR trim yet? I don't want to be the first to experiment with it lol

i ordered this Metra kit for my AVIC-D3:

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...10&i=120958210

what the heck, i have a 2005 4runner sport "without" JBL, but my opening looks the same as the opening with the JBL so i'm hoping it will fit.

It's only $21 including tax and delivery...if you're gonna spend over $1000 on a nav system, you might as well spend $21 to get a nice trim that "might" fit perfectly.

I have a 2009 4Runnner with the Urban Runner trim package. My truck came with the Tom Tom detachable navigation unit, but I replaced it with a Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT. I ordered a trim package from Metra and Scosche as well. Neither of them fit. I tried the trim ring that came with the Tom Tom unit, and it fit perfectly. I have the P/N and some pics if there is any interest.

You got it. I'll try to get the pics posted later today. I will also try to take some after photos of the AVIC installed. I need to work out the issue I'm having with the e-brake wire bypass that I tried. I also need to see about installing the iPod cable as well....

Thanks! I'm still up in the air between the Pioneer and the Kenwood. Kenwood's use of Garmin is very appealing.

Pics of AVIC Z110BT Install - 2009 Urban Runner

Here are the pics.

Pic of the trim ring from a 2009 Toyota 4Runner with the Urban Runner trim package.

Pic of the part number on the inside of the trim ring: PZ365-3570. I did a few searches, but nothing comes up. I guess a call to the dealer might be in order if you are looking for the trim ring.

Pic of the AVIC Z110BT installed with the trim ring. I tried both the metra kit, as well as the scosche kit, and the original trim ring fits the best....go figure.

Another pic of the AVIC Z110BT install

Pic of the unit powered up. I had an AVIC-Z3 in my 2004 Tacoma, and I was pleased with it's performance. So far, the new Z110BT has not disappointed. The only issue I'm having is getting the bypass to work correctly, but once I have that solved, I'll be happier.

The iPod interface on the Z110BT is awesome! I just connected the cables today, and it is really nice. I also was able to get the PAC-SWI interface kit to work correctly as well. This allows the use of the steering wheel controls with the Z110BT. After a brief chat with the guys over at PAC, they had me pointed in the right direction. A few solder connections later, and all of the controls on the steering wheel work just like they used to with the old head unit.

Update: I had a bad ground on the bypass. I have it corrected, and all is well.

Is there another place on the trim ring that would have the part number that I could check?

If this trim ring's part number can be pinned down for sure, then this will be the cat's meow. Best trim piece of the three for DD radio installs.
