shot down again
I got a call back from United Radio. They told me that they don't have any trim rings for any of their radios. They suggested that I contact an after market stereo installer, and get the trim ring that way.
I'm out of ideas, so if anyone has any suggestions on what I can try next.

Thanks for the pics. Looks great. The trim ring looks pretty good to me....which one is that?? It doesn't look like the Metra one nor the Scosche one that I bought.
I did the iPod cable and Bluetooth as well. Went pretty smoothly. I ended up putting my iPod in the little map compartment below the AC controls.
On your backup camera, what model did you get, and did you run the cable in the headliner or somewhere else?
Thanks

my ipod is in the center console....not sure which trim kit that was...not sure of the brand...but its two separate pieces that bolts onto the side of the hu...
the back up cam was a cheapo audiovox one..pretty big and bulky imo...but its ok for now....ran the wires under the tailgate trim piece where the license plate lights are..up the side of the tailgate..and along the driver side where the headliners meet the side panels....

Where did you go with it from there? I was thinking about going down the side panel, and try to find a way to get from the interior to the under side of the truck. Then, I would run the wires forward along the drive shaft tunnel, and come up under the center console somewhere.
Reason I ask is that a friend of mine was told by the dealership that they would have to remove his headliner to install the back up cam. I figured that it was BS, so that's why I'm asking.

Thanks. I figured that it would be hard to remove the headliner so that you could run a cable up there. I guess it wasn't that difficult?

Hope this helps
Hey guys, I registered for this site just so that I can share this info.
I have an 06 sport, and I am having the same issue with a double din aftermarket install.
I stubled accross this kit...
Metra 95-8210 for 03-07 4Runner Limited.
Looks like it would solve the issue either right out of the box or with minimal adjustments.
Thought i'd share
If anybody tries it let me know.

So any update on the trim piece??
I just got off the phone with the Parts Department for Tom Scott Toyota here in Boise and the parts lady could not find anything on the 09 Urban Runner trim. I told her that I would print the install picture off and bring it in. I will post an update later.

Theey moDified ur kit lowpro, atleast it looks acceptable, but if it was me I do a better job tho, I don't think they even try other kit from other company, metra is not the only one with the dash kit, u got sosche and American international also, every kit is different and is worth trying sometimes

Lowpro-
Good job on your install. I like that trim piece, and it looks like the dealer glued it together so that it is part of the dash trim piece. Looks pretty good to me.
