Just finished installing the T1808 in my 2008 SR5 that I picked up off Craigslist for only $35. With the help from this forum, it took well under an hour and some of that time was spent detailing the parts that came off. The sound quality is WAY better than the factory HU (11823). I have the IPod cable on order and will install that once it arrives. Not the best of picture as my camera batteries were dying.

My current stock set-up doesn't have an aux input. Is there a way to add an aux cable so that I can take advantage of this. I'm looking for a place in which to hard wire my Sirius radio. Electronics aren't my thing, but I'm pretty handy and willing to go through the effort if there's a way.
Thanks.

Missel,
I found this on ebay. It is not the right part number for the T1808 but the auction says he has all part #'s in stock. It looks like a really good solution to the problem of no aux plug for all you 03-05 4Runner owners with the Scion HU.

A little bit of nail polish remover will remove the "scion" logo on these head units

I thought about trying to remove the Scion logo but was worried about "hazing" the black fascia of the radio. I suppose I could try it on the old HU though...

I have done it on two of them now and they look great, no hazing, and no logo. Last time I actually used plast-x afterwards on the whole face to shine it up and remove a few very fine scratches the previous owner put on it. I left the pioneer, but I have been thinking recently about removing all text printed on the face. You only need a small amount on the corner of a rag, and you kinda have to rub it hard. Maybe if you used more you wouldnt have to rub too hard, but to tell you the truth I was a bit scared of the chemicals damaging the plastic at first too.

T1806, XM and iPod connector installed
I just installed a T1806 head unit and also installed the Terk XM unit and the iPod connector so I can control everything from the head unt. It is great not having any extra cords! My aux input in the console works as well - didn't have to do anything to it! For the XM antenna, I ran it through the firewall and tucked the cord under the driver's side windshield gasket and mounted the antenna on the front driver's side roof. I'm happy with how it turned out!

Is the T1809 still the newest version, or is there a newer one?

I could be wrong, but I believe after the 1809, Scion began using an Alpine unit for their premium systems.

Just installed a T1805 in my 97 4Runner. It was stated on one of the stickys on this forum that the T1805 had Ipod and or Aux input but it does not. (That has been updated by a very helpful member) Be sure you get the right unit. I do like the T1805 in some respect as it has 2 great features: Color changing LCD and a 6 disc cd changer that I have had no issues with. If you are installing these in a 3rd Gen you will most likely have to modify the face of the Scion slightly to get it to fit. This unit was wider then the opening of the old H/U so I had to make some cuts on the plastic face surrounding the face in order for it to fit. I am satisfied with the overall outcome and it does sound alot better then the old stock H/U. One note be sure and remove the amp behind the stock H/U as the plugs coming out the amp will not plug into the Scion units or at least the one I have. The plugs from the the back of the amp fit perfect.

I will try and get some pics up this week. As far as best one? Thant depends on what you want to do. If you want ipod/mp3 capable usin then go with a new model T1806 or newer. If you want multi disc changer then go with T1805 like mine but be aware these units have been known to have disc player issues so I have read, Mine works perfect but thats what I have seen from around various web forums. Hope this helps and Ebay is a great place to pick up a Scion unit cheap!
