4th Gen Cargo Net Hooks

Can anyone tell me how to remove the round cargo net hooks from the rear/side trim panels (located directly behind the tail lights)?

Thanks!

Not easy

It's funny you ask, because I just did it today. It is impossible to take them apart the way they are made to come apart- even when they are removed already (you'll see). You just have to pull, really hard. Be careful though because they come flying out pretty fast. I messed with them for a good 20 minutes before I finally gave up and just started yanking on them.
Anyone else got a better solution?

If you look closely, you'll notice that there are two pieces to the clips. One that forms a cap and one that forms a stem. They meet at a seam around thebottom of the cap. Try to pull on the cap only. resist the urge to hook your fingers under the step when pulling. The top cap will separate and the fastener will pop out.

Thanks for the replies - after messing with a couple of them I finally noticed where they separated in two pieces under the head. Man...that is tough to see. Thanks again!

Dang

Wow. I wish I had figured that out. They sure did a good job in hiding that one. Even after I had them out I didn't see that. Oh well, I suppose I should have logged on and asked somebody. Ha.

Don't feel too bad...I didn't figure it out till I had one pulled out by brute force.

I have been searching so long to get instructions on how to get the hook separated and your answer worked in seconds.
