Rear lift gate won't work - after disconnecting ? Rear view camera Help

I know this isn't an audio/electronics issue - but I figured someone else ran into this when hooking up they're rear view camera.

I was taking my tailgate apart in my 03 limited and I disconnected the wire harness in the liftgate. After I reconnected it - it won't do anything. Now I can't get it open and I never did finish getting my cammera installed.

I thought I saw something about resetting it? Is there another way other than dissconnecting the battery.

Also when I do get back to installing my cammera - Where do you guys bring the wire in at - do you have to drill a hole in the liftgate? I was trying to avoid that. I am surface mounting it in the same location the factory one goes.

Thanks for help

I ran into the same problem about 6mts ago when i installed my rear view camera. i thought that I would have to take it into the dealership but all i did was unhook the battery for about five minutes and let the ecu reset itself and then I used the lock and unlock button on my remote to initialize the liftgate and wala!
As far as drilling the hole, I did do this because I wanted a clean look to my licence plate camera but depending on what kind of canmera you have, I have heard of people running the wire without drilling. I hope this helps!

Had the same problem, if you have the lift gate cover still off just unplug the two bottom connectors to the back door control unit and wait about 10 seconds or do the battery negative.
