I need some help installing a line converter for an aftermarket amplifier for a new subwoofer. I remember seeing this a while back but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know what the color of the wires and which ones are neg and post that go to the JBL Sub.

Well I removed the JbL sub and there are 4 wires. A green, yellow, black, and orange. I'm not sure which ones are positive and negative and left and right?

This is a dual voice coil subwoofer. Use an ohmeter to find continuity for each pair of wires. To find out which is positive take a 9 volt battery and using clip leads touch the battery to each voice coil while watching the speaker cone. It will either move in or out each time you touch it with the battery. Positive is when the cone moves toward you. Do this again for the other coil so they will be in phase when you hook them up. By the way this is a mono set up intended for two amps which use the same signal.

There is no left and right both coils use the same signal. This is done so you can give more power to the sub using two amps. If you think about it you can't give one speaker two different bass signals. It would sound like crap!
