Custom Side Exit Exhaust
So I was thinking about chopping off my resonator and making my exhaust exit out behind the right tire. From what I have read based on previous threads....it will not change the sound. My question is: will this affect my ability to pass aircare? Does it affect my emissions in a negative way by chopping it off???

I did the same thing. Used a piece of pipe to bend it out 90 degrees, exiting right behind the right rear mud flap. Then, since I had a coupon, put on an chrome exhaust tip from a Dodge Ram! It will not affect your exhaust readings, as the resonator is just supposed to quiet down the exhaust some. It made it a little louder, but barely---and I mean *barely*.

It's one of the first mods I did years ago. Copied what momo.75 did with a MagnaFlow tip. No problems. There is a sticky mod thread with a link about this at the start of the General Discussions forum.

I changed my muffler to a magnaflow and did the same thing. Cut out the resonator and bent it out to the side. Personally, I cant tell the difference in sound because I changed the muffler at the same time, BUT I can tell you that I get less sulfur smell inside the cabin.

Why did you want to change the location of the exhaust tip?
I know if you carry a bicycle off the back end you do not want the exhaust heating up the bike tire. Problems!
