Does anyone know where I could find a wiring diagram (similar to the one that SSTr4 posted on page 4) that includes the 115v plug instead of the trac plug? I'm trying to trace the wires from the 115v plug to determine if any of them could be useful....just cant find any useful diagrams.

I did run across this diagram from JA but this doesnt really seem contain the same info im looking for?

What additional wires are you trying to trace, that's not shown on the diagram that JA posted? The post on page 4 is referencing the skid control ecu, which likely wouldn't show any of the 115V wires if they aren't related to that system/circuit.

Well I was thinking that since the 115v connector already had wires fed through the firewall that they might be useful if I wanted to splice into the red/blue wire in the engine bay. But from the few hours of research I just did...i'm realizing that it would be really pointless/add more steps for me to splice into the red/blue wire in the engine bay. So yeah...im just lost in the weeds over here

haha thanks for entertaining me!

Gotcha, yeah I'm not sure *where* the wires go. If you download the wiring diagrams in the stickies it shows a lot of the connectors and their approximate location in the vehicle, but not sure if that'd give you what you need.

Instead of trying to get to the red/blue wire at the skid control ECU, why not tap into it at the 4WD ECU located under the glove box? I have a 2005, that's what I did.

confirmation for 2006 v6

Alright, so I'v been referencing info from this thread and Kliv's fine grained VSC thread, and I'm just hoping to get some confirmation here before I start splicing...

I'm planning to use a factory switch(converted to ON/OFF) and Ill tap the red/blue wire at the 4wd ecu (under glovebox). I'll ground it out to the bolt that is referenced in the first page of this thread (under steering column).

To light the trac switch I'm also planning to splice into two wires feeding the CDL switch (basing this off this diagram from KLIV's install guide).

So in the end I would be splicing:

pin 1 (vsc) to pin 1 (CDL)
pin 2 (vsc) to pin 2 (CDL)
pin 3 (vsc) to red/blue (4wd ecu)
pin 4 (vsc) to ground

Does this all sound reasonable? I appreciate any input!

Hey guys so I have a 2003 4x4 V6 SR5 and I'm looking to disable VSC, but reading through this post I've honestly gotten confused by how many different ideas and solutions people have posted. I would preferably like to have it work in 2wd as well as 4wd because I'm planning on installing a Detroit Trueurac in the rear and I think that it would pair very nicely with ATRAC and no VSC. Could anyone help me out by letting me know what I would need to do given what year and model I have? Thanks!

I don't really know the differences between the years, but the only tried and true way I've read of people getting VSC off in 2wd is to first go to 4wd, use the button in this mod to ground out that wire, then go back into 2wd. The only concern I've found is your front axle is still engaged (ADD Shift Actuator doesn't move back to its default 2wd position). Doesn't really seem to be a problem though.

I spent several days last year testing things out on my 2005 v6 and found another way to get VSC off in 2wd. I posted about it here: VSC Off in 2WD for V6 4Runners

Unfortunately it got very little response. So it worked for me, but I doubt anyone else has tried it.

is there any downside to grounding out the brake switch at the brake booster?

Just got a T4R a couple of weeks ago. I have the factory blue molex and got the oem trac off switch. Was trying to decide how to do the latching relays and read the bit about using a tr7. Pretty sure we have some at work. Thats perfect. Thanks all.
