separation/dog screen

Does anyone have this separation screen from toyota japan?

Separation Screen

I like that it was made for the 4runner and not just a universal fit type thing

I don't have it, but I was wondering the same question about it. It looks fairly straight-forward, but is there anything extra that needs to be purchased to make it work? Its more expensive than a semi universal type that uses posts tensioned between the floor and roof. I didn't want to somehow damage my headliner with the posts pressing against it. This looks far better, but the pictures suck on the site. BTW, your link is broken.

I agree, the picture is terrible. I was hoping someone had it so they could show better pics and give some feed back. I also dont want to damage the headliner, maybe i will just go for it if nobody replies fairly soon. I fixed the link, thanks.

hold the phone..

in order to get the separation screen you need to buy the crossbar system as well and install it by cutting the headliner slightly and mounting it to fasteners in the roof... that boosts the price to almost $400...

I just assumed that it all came together, since it doesn't say anything about buying the crossbars seperately. I guess i better do more research. thanks for the heads up, that would have been a mistake.

Figures a good idea gone wrong. I guess we'll all have to keep looking for the perfect one.

not to butt in on you 4th gen guys

I use the KennelAire doggie divider-it is a Universal fit but you can modify it in height and width.

It is made in the USA and only pushes against the headliner to stay in place-some small pads underneath the 2 stays would protect the headliner.

It is at Petsmart or Petco I forget which and runs about $60 or so.

I added zip ties to mine once I found the perfect dimensions-they attach the frames together in more places to prevent rattling over rough roads.

Check it out....

Weathertech offers one for about 70 bucks. However it is a bar system and not a screen. Small dogs could jump through, maybe. I recommend you look on their web site for better information.

Thanks for the replies. I just decided to buy a universal one from Petsmart. Fits pretty good, rattles a little bit, but i just used a couple of zipties and now its good.

I just bought this for my runner.

http://www.discountramps.com/pet-vehicle-barriers.htm

Its angled to match the angle of the seats in the cargo area to maximize the room for your K9. The price is great at 32.99+S/H. This company has great costomer service as well.
The top and bottom have large cups that go against the floor and roof to not cause damage. The item has a clean look when installed instead of a wire mesh look. It doesnt rattle either.

I was agonizing about a decent separation screen for the 4R. My dog is a nut in the car, and his mission is to try to get up front. And he is a window licker. I personally hated all the options available, so I ended up just buying the proper sized, double door crate for my dog from ebay and securing it to the D-rings with straps. For my particular breed, it fits perfectly. It has two benefits- my dog is a lot safer in that he can't run back and forth and God forbid we get into an accident he will not be tossed around as far. Secondly, I can also put stuff in the back besides the dog.

I have, however, been thinking about a barrier net nonetheless- I was transporting a dresser with the drawers in, and at one point I stopped short and the top drawer slid out and almost knocked me unconscious. I'm thinking about a 1/2" tubular webbing net, form fitted, and attaching using existing points. My friend has an industrial sewing machine, and makes holsters and packs and such, so it would be no problem for him.

I have the OEM screen from Totota, new in box, never installed. Plans changed.
Only problem, instructions in Japanese. Could not find translated version.

Looking for $125 + shipping.
