Sure thing, PICS are hard to tell but it is about 1/2" from flush with the Metra Kit.

Here is my Escort 9500i wired to the fuse box below the steering wheel. Not only do I get better reception/distance up there, NOBODY can see it form outside so theft is a non issue. I ran the wire up the a pillar and in the head liner. I put the remote in an empty space below the steering wheel.

More pics - the button fit perfectly in there.

And.....my useless trunk I dont bast like a gang banger all the time, but I sometimes have urges to shake car's mirrors in front of me. The massage isnt bad either!

I have not been in a car premium or not that has a better sounding Stereo than mine. The staging is perfect and I truly can notice a difference. I have the remote Bass knob in the 12v compartment so its out of the way.

Want more pics? Just ask. Sorry to hijack!

Items purchased:

PIONEER AVH-P3100DVD for $400.00 @ Best Buy

Metra Double Din kit for $20.00 @ same store

Scotche Direct Connect wire harness $80.00

The DVD button had to look stock, just if Toyota had installed it there. The solution - constant on/off switch, DAC is happens to be one. $52.00 and a week later I had it in my garage. I used continuity test mode in multimiter to find my contacts (only 2 needed). Parking brake wire is long enough to run back to buttons in center console. I used another wire to run from ground (shifter bracket bolt) to my new switch. Switch has a little ridge that prevent assembly workers from fitting it in wrong slot. After filing it off it fits in any blank spot after removing dummy plug from console. Wires connected, console snapped back in place - and I've got clean looking install.

Just wondering if you have anything to follow up with? I am thinking of going with the 4100 and would like to know how the ipod controls are as well as the resolution and how the back up camera works? If you can comment on any of these things or anything else you like or dont like that you can think of, it would be great. Looks good!

Also if anyone wants to comment about back up cameras, I am looking to hear some feedback. Should I just go with the brand that matches the head unit, or is there one that is better than the rest? Thanks

I've had my Boyo license plate backup camera for over 2 years with no problems.

Pretty soon I'm going to get a newer Boyo model. The "chrome" frame is getting a bit ragged, but otherwise the camera itself works fine.

Update on 3100:
Love USB port. All I use is 8GB USB drive for my music. I've movie in CD/DVD slot for those long waits @ train crossing or carwash or just front passenger entertainment. As for camera: I've no desire of installing one. It usually takes a second or two to start up for most models - I rather use those huge side mirrors that Toyota gave to 4R. Pioneer makes 5100 with motorised large screen, but be aware it won't sit flush with your trim because it needs clearance to tilt.

This one in F150 from YouTube, but it'll give you preview of the unit:

I replaced my Kenwood with the Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD. The 3100 is nice but I wanted a clean iPod setup. The 7" screen is a big plus too since I have a backup camera. I had worried about the double din Metra unit but using the stock brackets I had on my Kenwood single DIN I was surprised about how clean the headunit fit.

Nice install, Darkside. Did you get Bluetooth module? I-pod inderface in 4100 is identical to 3100s. The only difference is the screen thats motorised and larger. Love the camera function. Did it take a while to route camera cables?

Thanks it was easier than I thought. I didn't want a usb cable in front of my headunit. I'd rather have my iPod in the glove compartment. I already had the backup camera from the Kenwood so all I had to do was plug into the back of the 4100. I don't have Bluetooth, and from the less than positive reviews of the CD-BTB200 I might just keep my Jabra ear piece instead.

The biggest headache was the SWI-PS. I didn't know that I can't program radio presets with the SWI-PS and Pioneer headunits. I don't listen to the radio often, but it would have been nice to toggle between stations using the steering wheel controls.

My DVD bypass is pretty ghetto compared to your setup. Mine is a simple toggle switch mounted on one of the empty switches above the gas door lever.
