Anyone running Yokohama Geolanders?

I have had 2 sets of AT-S LT285/75/16 on my Chevy and love them. I am looking at leveling the 4Runner and getting 265/70/17s. I want a wider and taller tire but havent had any other brands to compair to.

I was actually debating on Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos or Yokohama Geolander A/T...but I chose Revos

Annoyed has the Yokohama Geolander A/T & said they suck in the snow.

In the Yoko's general price range there is also the Pirelli Scorpion ATR which I think is a superior tire in all respects. I believe alaskaman has had positive results with them.

Ha I guess I need to pay more attention

Judging from reviews and some anecdotal stories I would think the Scorpions would be better in just about everything. The Yoko's are pretty cheap though. I couldnt tell from your OP if you were curious about other brands?

I will get what ever looks and preforms well. I want a taller wider tire with a leveling kit. 265/70s look like they are all 1 inch taller and a little wider. there arent much in 275/70s and a 285 might be to wide for the stock rims.

I wear 265/65/17 Geolandar AT/S. And they DO NOT suck in the snow. It sucks on black ice tho. But i don't think there's a tire out there that will beat black ice.

I think the 275/65/17 would be a better size if you are looking at taller and wider with a leveling kit. Just so happens the yoko's come in that size. 265 treadwidth is the same as the stock tire.

Theyre a decent tire at a really good price. I had them on my old pickup and found that they were terrible on snow. My truck did better when it had stock AT's on it than before I lifted it and threw on the Geolanders. I also found that they didnt wear well, but then again my truck did have alignment issues so who knows. For a cheap taller tire I would go with the the Nitto Terragrapplers instead

like life, tires offer give/take. no tire is going to be great for stick on dry hot pavement and give u the same on cold, rainy conditions.

i have the yokos like mike and find them to be 1 of the best "stick" tires on pavement. quiet and good looking, squared sidewalls with an aggressive tread design. my 4runner is primarily an urban bruiser so it's ideal for my needs. the michelins and other tires look like junkyard tires in comparison. the yokos are very sporty.

i didn't have any trouble navigating thru snow, but if you're on snow, best to have snow tires.
