3rd Gen amp install location
I am having trouble determining where to install my RF punch 60 amp. It is pritty small, but to thick to fit under the drivers seat. I want to hide it so i just have to remove speaker wire to get the sub enclosure out if need be.
where have you guys mounted your amps?

It might fit under your passenger seat. There is a little more room over there.

An amp will not fit under the passenger seat if you have a limited (edit: I see you do) due to the rear heater. I just stick my sub amp behind the sub box, nice and easy access.

I hardly if ever use my cargo area with the rear seats folded down so I have mine mounted (one to drive my subs and the other to drive my door mount speakers) on the back of each rear seat. Aesthetically clean, completely hidden out of sight especially if you have a tonneau cover. Works great for me.

I won't tell you to do this but it worked for me. I had a JL 250/1 under the rear passenger seat where the Jack is located. I actually never had it overheat either.

I've considered that spot. I might try it if I ever upgrade.
I currently have my smallish amp under the driver seat. There's about 2.5" of clearance before the seat motor gets in the way. It's a PITA to make wire connections while the seat is still attached, but I managed!

I have two amps installed where the factory subwoofer would go in the rear quarter panel. I would imagine it gets pretty hot, however I have NEVER had a problem. (except when my wife backed into something...not a good story) It does prove to be difficult to service them because I have to remove the entire rear interior panel.

I had my amps in the same location, but now they are too large to really hide anywhere. I can get my 4 channel amp under my seat but if it isn't all the way back it sticks out. My sub amp is just sitting behind my sub box, I have yet to build a mount for it.
Ridog, I want to hear this wife backing into something story, it sounds like sparks could be involved .

Amp location
I have an Alpine PDX 2.150 I put under the driver seat of my 00'. There is a hole already cut in the carpet right in front where I ran my 6 gauge power and all my audio cables and I have no issues with it. Doesn't get hot or in the way at all.
