I know the 1806, 1807 and 1808 do. They all require some trimming of the center console.

Ive seen the 2011 HU's, the 2011 Scion/Pioneer DEH-M9097 ...i really like the looks of them the most out of any of the others...does anybody know if they will fit an '01 runner??

EDIT: it doesnt look like there would be any trimming involved with this one..no buttons to overlap..gosh that would be sweet

Has anyone installed this Scion headunit yet? I'm curious if it's also compatible, and how much people are paying for it.

Anyone? I'm guessing not since it's a pretty new headunit. If anyone has though, i'd love to get your opinion on it.

Couple questions. On the 1809 it says aux Ipod compatable...dumb question, but is there a seperate wire for the aux plug? I don't have an Ipod, but have a cheapo mp3 player. My wife's accord has a plug inside the console for the aux. How does it work w/ this unit?
It also says sirus ready, I guess all I would need is a subscription?
Thanks!

T1808 w/ Alpine sps 600c

The 600s work better as you reach the 40w (each) max on the T1808. Max volume is 60 and at 40 they really sound good. Got the rear sps500 coaxial today.

I would like to know too. I was looking and at a few pics on line. It has the same 3 connectors my non-jbl has plus a lot of extra.

Successful USB and iPod connectivity to T1814

Sharing a link to my post on another thread that gives step by step instructions how to solder an inexpensive USB extension cable to the internal circuit board on the T1814 that will give you full functionality for USB flash drives, USB MP3 players and iPods.

I did get this unit installed. Has the same standard connectors. Downside... The aux does not work right, I read on a scion form you need to swap a pin to get the AUX to ground, I have had no luck yet. Also You need a harness for ipod/usb and I have no clue what to get or where to get it.

Any ideas?

Scion T1809 HU Install

For anyone still interested in upgrading their 4th gen non-JBL 4runner, the install is absolutely as easy as the earlier posts describe.
Here's a link to the owners manual if you can't decide if it's the right upgrade for you or if you can't figure out how to use the radio you just installed.
The best price I could find was $140, shipping included.

First post ever on the 4Runner Forums! Yippee!!!

Any who... 2007 SR5 4Runner no-JBL.
Just picked up a T1808 off craigs list for $35!

He also had the pioneer speakers that were in the Scion and tossed them in for FREE (I'll have to see if they are better than stock). As soon as I get the iPod cable (I see a bunch on eBay for $9) I'll be putting this in.

I’ll be very interested to see what 160w will do. I didn’t find any posts that mentioned the “stock” watts.

Now... time to update that profile thingy. :-)

Here are my notes! The upgrade was SUPER simple and worth it! The AUX doesn't work UNLESS you do the resister mod below (after the mod the AUX works perfectly!). I'll post all the pics to my profile page after I get them off the camera.

It looks good in the truck (updates the display), sounds better (not going to blow your socks off but it IS better) and the iPod functionality is really nice to have.

How to reprogram the display (this is fun to change from Scion to "4Runner"...
