New Mastercraft Courser MSR Snow Tires Installed

Just installed a set of 4 Mastercraft Courser MSR Snow Tires today. These tires are made by Cooper. I sized up to 265/70/17 from my stock Dunlops (265/65/17). I got these for a winter in Maine - I spend alot of time in the mountains for skiing and snowboarding.

These cost me $587.00 installed at a local small shop. Much cheaper than the Nokians I was considering (around $1000 installed). I'll keep you guys posted on how they perform in the upcoming storm scheduled to hit us this Sunday.

Here's a link to their website for more info:

They look good! Did they balance well? Looking forward to the snow report, that price is tough to beat

I think they look pretty rugged for a cheap tire. The balanced awesome - just finished an hour trip down the highway, and they ride like an AT tire at 80mph! Still haven't hit any snow yet - looking forward to a true test.

Honestly, these $587 tires ride MUCH better than the stock Dunflops.

Update:

Tested the Courser MSR tires this weekend in a snow storm bring 29 inches of snow. These tires rock! I was literally buried in snow, and plowed in - left it in 2WD and the 4Runner pulled right out.

Love these tires.

I drove up the Maine turnpike during the storm.. Thankfully my snows performed great.

Are you a 'loafer or a river runner?

Nice! I'm both. I rent a ski house at the River, but have parents that own a restaurant and live in Farmington. I was at the Loaf this weekend, and my 4Runner was buried. I live in Portland, and drove down on Sunday through the remains of the storm without any issue at all.

I've rented many ski houses in the Sunday River area over the years. It's a lot of fun, but I have been going to the Loaf more often in past years.

What load rating are the tires? From the spec sheet they appear to be 10 ply.

Old thread I know...But how are your tires holding up? Wearing even? Been off road any? A local shop carries those tires and I really like the looks of them. Just looking for some more info. Thanks! Also, they are 4 ply, right?
