BFG Rubbing Issue / Info - 265/70/17

So I've been searching and reading out here for the last couple weeks and decided to post some additional info...

About two weeks ago I finally too the plunge on new tires and picked up 5 new BFG All-Terrain TA KOs. Since I've been driving on stock for the last 50k and put on the cornfed 3/2 on around 10k it was more than needed. So everything I read said no issues with rubbing and that you really don't need the hub spacers so I was bet surprised to hear the rubbing noise after leaving NTB. It really only was rubbing on hard turns while reversing so it was nothing serious, but rather just annoying.

About a week later I finally got some time and found my Dremel to remove this annoyance. The left side needed just a bit and the right side was more significant. This was probably due the alignment I did shortly after the lift.

So in the end I'm very happy with the BFGs and they worked out very well in the Catskills with the snow. For everyone considering them in the future just fyi you might have to do a bit of cutting.

Glad you got it worked out. Do you have some pics that show the trimming? And do I get it? You're back to stock height?

Most people running that tire in that size have minor rub on the UCA at full lock. Your problem sounds pretty normal.

Well I thought I was done but then I heard the rubbing noise again. I'll try and clean it up this weekend if it warms up to over 30 and take some photos. I also ran out of cutter blades for the Dremel.

I have the same tires - Im not gonna touch it. It barely rubs and only does it occasionally.

Its weird - it vibrates from right behind the pedals.

Do you have lift eskimo? Could it be that a lift causes more rubbing at the UCA?

Most rubbing is on the plastic, not the UCA. There are owners running 275 on stock wheels without mjor uca issues. Where have you read reports of uca rubbing with 265/70?
