Navigation system and stereo amplifier
Just finished installing my 2005 Camry navigation system from OEMsales.com. When I received my unit, I noticed that Troy shipped me a different amp than the one on his website. It is much smaller, and Troy claims that it is more powerful.
Anyway, this new, smaller amp connects directly to the factory harnesses--no need for a jumper harness. I was able to squeeze the amp in to the right of the navigation unit, above the upper glove box compartment, so there was no need to cut the back of the glove compartment box.
Also, this new amplifier does supply 12V power to the antenna amplifier. I checked it with my voltmeter to be sure. All that needs to be done is to extend the wire (so it reaches) and plug it back into the original connecter.
The system works perfectly and the radio sounds good. Troy says that he's not sure how many watts this smaller amp puts out, but it sounds okay to me.... I'm happy with it.
By the way, I also got the newest version of the mapping DVD (version 4.1) with my navigation system.
