Urban Runner Radio Trim Ring Found!

Hey Guys, I just installed the Eclipse AVN-726E in my 2006 Sport Edition V6 non-RDS/JBL. I found the Urban Runner Trim Ring! It does exist! After installing, it's a very tight fit - but I didn't trim anything!

There's a slight bow in the bottom, but I'm hoping it will settle in eventually. I've also put a piece of paper between the HU and the trim to get the bow to form down a bit. But I think it's the best looking trim piece I've tried! Can't beat the factory look on the plastic.

Here are the details:

Part # PZ365-35904 (thanks to Roguesport1)
Name: PANEL SETRADIO RECE (OEM Catalog)
Dealer: Toyotapartsales.com
Price: $88.08 before shipping
Delivery: About 2 weeks

Here's some pics. Have at it!

I know, it's BS. List price is actually over $100! They do make a good amount of cash on part sales, no doubt.

I LOVE this headunit. The install went VERY well, I got the Bluetooth mic hooked up, the steering wheel controls are native to Eclipse (no adapter), got the video bypass working, GPS signal is perfect, iPhone syncs perfectly. I got a GREAT deal on this HU. Went on eBay and bought one using the Microsoft Bing Cashback - final cost was only $580. Then I bought a bypass for $15, the iPod cable for $30, the Toyota harness for $10 and the trim piece for $100 shipped.

You wouldn't regret putting this in.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

That's a real good price for a unit like this - very, very tempting.

I didn't go for the XM/Sirius, HD Radio Tuner or the Backup Cam because each of these options were like $200+. But even without those options, it's a terrific price on a flagship-level HU. The NAV UI and map system is the best I've ever seen, and I've owned Audi's with premium systems as well. The route calculations and re-routing are literally INSTANT because of the flash memory based storage and high-end processor.

I can't believe I'm thinking about upgrading to this unit, here is the question; Does the Ipod interface allow video?

Previous generations only allowed audio, if this does I'm seriously thinking about pulling the trigger.

Yes, the Eclipse IPC-709 iPod cable allows you to watch videos from your iPod or iPhone onto the headunit directly. It works great. I also burn Divx downloads right to DVD-R and pop it in my Headunit for viewing. That to me is easier because I don't have to convert it to ipod format.

My wife has one installed in her 4runner. We love it.

This thread has a lot of info.

I added the HD Radio module, works great and added the text feature for song titles and such. I think almost every station here in Los Angeles has a sub-channel with more music. Bypassed the parking brake by grounding the wire.

In regards to it playing video? This is what Crutchfield says about the cable. Works great in our 4runner.

Quote:
Overview: The Eclipse iPC-709 iPod adapter cable also allows select iPod portable digital music players to be connected to and controlled by the Eclipse AVN726E. All the iPod's buttons will be disabled when connected to this adapter and the iPod will be controlled from the head unit. Music and videos stored on the connected iPod can be played when connected to the unit. While connected, the AVN726E will power the iPod, and charge the iPod's battery. You can perform playlist, album, artist, genre, or song searches. Playback functions include track up/down, fast forward/rewind, track repeat, track random play, and album random play. Display selections include song, album, or artist.

iPod Compatibility: The Eclipse iPC-709 supports the following iPods for audio/video playback, control, and charging.

* iPod video (5th generation)
* iPod classic (80/120/160GB)
* iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th generation)
* iPod touch (1st/2nd generation)

Note: The iPod nano (1st/2nd generation) only supports audio playback (no video).

Honestly, if you compare the features on the AVN726E to the Camry Nav (my option for an 06' non-JBL sport), the AVN is a no-brainer. And you can probably get an AVN726E much cheaper than a Camry nav, even if you buy the Urban Runner Trim piece.

Why buy eclipse since they are closing for aftermarket, willl they fix if it failed?that urban runner trim only work for jbl system, since they are different from non jbl stereo.

The warranty on the Eclipse units are still good. And I had a non-JBL in my 2006 Sport Edition and the Urban Runner trim piece works perfectly. The pictures posted are without any trimming - I just popped it in.

Trim Ring Install

So i decided to take the OP on his word and just buy the trim part from the toyota parts group. I have an 06 Sport V6 non-JBL w/o RDS. I had installed my AVN726e and tried both the Scosche and Metra trim kits and ended up using the Scosche but hated the way the AVN stood out from the dash and didn't look factory in the slightest.

No modification of the trim piece was necessary at all. Basically, you install your head unit with no trim, put all trim back on, then just push the trim ring in around the head unit and it just snaps in snugly.

The fit was spot on for me, nothing sticking out. Head unit tilts open with no problem.

Pics of the install process below. Installed at night so pics may not be great.

Before - Scosche Kit

(Tried for fit in above pic - You actually install it last)
