NICE!!! I know there is a thread out there regarding the "pin outs" on how to get it to work. 2006 and beyond? Well, that explains why there's no plug. I got the toyota mic and saw there are only 3 wires to it, that should work !?
2) Did you also purchase the ribbon cable that connects the bluetooth controls to the audio controls (left hand steering wheel controls)? It's part number 84204-58010.
Yes, the ribbon cable I purchase was a little tricky to install (first time I ever moved an airbag, so it was nerve racking), but it clicked in to BOTH the volume controls(left side) to the bluetooth buttons0(right side) connectors. I expect the buttons to light up!!

Thanks!

I have this microphone: Carson Toyota TRD Parts, Replacement parts and accessories for Southern California
The microphone should only be 3 wires to the 24-pin connecton on pins 17, 19 and 20. Pins 18 and 12 should be bridged. The microphone I have also has the switched that I wired to pins 9 and 10 (kind of redundant with the one on the steering wheel). So I guess you could try to figure out how the factory mic is wired and hook it up to the 24-pin connector. I can tell you that pin 20 is MIC-, pin 19 is MIC+ and pin 17 is for power. Not sure what 12 and 18 are but they just connect from one to the other.
Not sure what's wrong with your bluetooth buttons not lighting up. I had someone install mine since I was replacing my steering wheel and airbag (I had the vinyl one without the audio controls) and I just wasn't comfortable with swapping out the airbag myself. Just curious, what part number for the bluetooth switch did you order?

Switch, Steering: 84244-35030-BO
Cable sub-assy: 84204-58010
First thing that pops into my head is it's not tight or maybe it's on reverse (but that doesn't make any sense since both ends of the ribbon connector are identical! .........and they only pop in ONE way ). I'll have to pop the airbag out again, fiddle with it.........all just to check a light..hahha.........a shame b/c it's technically not wired to anything (E7009).
Thanks!

Thanks!! having voice will be great.....I'll tackle this soon. I don't expect a problem, BUT the bluetooth has me stumped.
Ok, the bluetooth buttons are not lighting up. When I press (any) of the buttons, I expect the head unit to display SOMETHING, but I get nothing. Because I have a 2005 model, I'm thinking there are connectors/wiring that are not present. I've searched and pretty much found nothing. I gather that if you have a 2006+ 4Runner, you are good to go. If not, you are not.
Can anyone point me in the right direction???
Thanks!

Were you able to get the bluetooth buttons working on your 2005?

I have reached the same situation. Installing a E7008 into a 04 with JBL. I ordered the OEM switch and right to left cable.
On the unit everything works, GPS, backup camera, audio and Bluetooth connectivity (it sees and responds to the telephone).
However I have two major problems - I have no audio/voice for the GPS nor for the Bluetooth telephone. Also, because I have no bluetooth audio, I'm uncertain whether the micorphone is correctly wired.
I used seany's wiring diagram for pins 20,19,17 and 18/12 bridged. What I have not done is wire 9 and 10 even though i have the $50 mic from Carlso (the Japanaese mic) rather than the overhead one
I will try again in the next few days - first tackling the voice from GPS and then the Bluetooth

did you re the wire from the 7008 to the amp in the trunk?
it's a 2 wire with shielding. That's how you can the sound to work
GPS and phone sounds comes through that on the driver's side speaker.

I'm just about to start that research.
I have seen that I need to take three wires from R10
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/audio-...ring-info.html
pins 11,12,13 and take them to the amp.
However I do not know where the amp is!
Where in the back is it? and is there a wiring diagram for it? so I know what plug S22 is

the amp is in the trunk on the Passenger side, there is a whole manual on how to get to it - don't try without reading it or you'll break a bunch of plastic...
and yes it's 2 wires + shielding that you need to get through.

Some searching and I have found where it is:
How to Remove the Navigation ECU from a 2003 Toyota 4Runner
now i need to find the wiring diagram. lastly I hope that 20ft of shielded stereo cable from Radio shack should do the trick.
Have you done this?

Gorgeous! About the shield - do you take it and put in the pin on the HU side but leave it dangling on the Amp side?
Thanks

Yes, you want to connect the shield at the HU, & run the shield all the way to the amp, but it'll float (not get connected at the amp). Use heat shrink (or tape) to cover it to make sure nothing shorts to it at the ends.
