Thanks I will tackle this tomorrow or next weekend but I have some further questions:
I am having also Bluetooth issues: does the above connection allow for you to hear the bluetooth over the driver speaker?
Did you attach a microphone and does that work? If so what microphone did you use - the Japanese from Carlson Toyota with the external switch $50 or the replacement overhead console one ($100+)?

If I wanted to install the urban runner tom tom nav radio in my nonJBL 2006 4runner, is it just plug and play? If not, what else is required? Also, ougrad1, do you still have the urban nav radio for sale?

No luck and i checked everything twice. BTW there is a typo in you excellent diagram: if you notice, in the diagram below you have IVO+ going to pin 22 when it should be going to pin23 (as shown in the diagram on the right side. In anycase i tried both with no luck.
I am beginning to think that it might now be the amp. I have an 04 jbl amp and this thread points to the fact that i might need an 06 or later amp:

Now I have to find the amp somewhere.

Thanks! Nice catch!
Just updated it.
Man, It's been a while since I messed with the whole JBL amp thing but I do seem to remember that I didn't have a problem using my '03 amp with the E7006 (4th gen nav), but had to get a different amp when I went through the E7007, & E7008 (for the 5th gen navs). Can't remember how the E7009 acted. I assume the same.
I just realized I still have two amps here at the house - one is my original '03 amp and the other I believe is a Sienna amp.
I almost forgot... I do have an amp for a 2008 or 2009 Highlander (probably the same, but not sure). I got this because it's a bit smaller than the T4R amp, and I was simply wanting to try it. Never did though... Guess that'll be going in a for sale post soon.
Geesh! The crap I've accumulated over the years (more like wasted my money on over the years)! Oh well it's been fun.

e7023
Sorry to resurrect this, but any idea if the e7023 nav system part number 86120-08170 will work in a non-jbl 2005 4runner sr5. The e7023 unit says its non jbl, but did not see it listed in the working units on the first page.

It should work. Remember that JBL systems have an amp located at the rear of the truck. This one seems to have a built in amp so it should be plug n play.
The E7023 is from a Sienna without JBL.
If you get it, let us know! I'll add the E7023 to the list. Thanks
hope this helps................

The E7005 units are the first units that Toyota installed on the 4Runner. Those did not come with the SAT (XM/SIRIUS) option as can be seen on this picture (no SAT button).

fleabay is your best bet. There are other places you can get them online, but you'll be paying through the nose for them. I got mine (E7009) for $700, but go for over $2K on other websites. Good Luck

e7003
So I bought an e7003 unit from a camry for my non-jbl 2005 4runner SR5. The connections did not match when I tried to install. Is it possible I have a 4runner than does not have an analog amp? Other possibilities are, this e7003 unit was from a camry with a digital amp, the e7003 does have the JBL logo on the front. Any ideas?

Ok, I previously had the E7003 a Non-JBL which is an error. It is in fact JBL as you can see in this picture:
I will make the appropriate changes to the list at the beginning of this thread. Sorry for any confusion.
@ dtalcox
: The only way you are going to get your E7003 to work is if you get a factory amp (JBL) for it. If not, get a non JBL unit such as the E7023/E7019. These unit do not have JBL so it should be PnP for ya. Also, I THINK the E7003 requires an external DVD player (OEM Toyota part of course) for the map database. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
