FJ Coils on a 2001. Advice needed.

Hello all,

As you all might know already I am riding around with a low sitting Runner(2001). Not liking that but she's in excellent shape with only 86K so a ton of life!
Would coils be a good way to go? I've read spacers are just a temp fix and wear out over time.

What would a complete set of FJ coils do for a 2001? Would it remove the rear sag? Is it possible to do? Is it smart to do? What kind of height would this add? Currently running 265/70/R16. Planning on 265/75/R16, could I go bigger with FJ coils? Can I do this myself? Not a car idiot been first time doing a coil change.

If this issue has been addressed already let me know, don't want to beat a dead horse.

Thanks in advance! You guys are addicting here! I will make sure I do before and after pictures if it gets done.

Wrex

with fj80 coils in the rear of your 4runner, you're looking at ~3-4 inches of lift. that 2001 model is pretty low to begin with and you would have quite the rake with swapping just the rear coils.

This is what I am looking at. Apparently I don't really know much about suspension.

08 Toyota FJ cruiser parts
do not get those. that's suspension from the newer FJ that will not work on your 3rd gen runner. You need front fj80 (91-97 if i remember correct) springs to fit on the rear of your 4runner.

Will those work for my 2007 SR5? What will it do to my rig? I already ordered the Daystar comfort ride leveling kit.

4Runner 96-02 - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

Look through that. I already went to the 3rd gen 4runner section so everything you look at on that page will work with your 4runner.

Will do! Thanks for the link. I know it says the 3inch is quite popular but would be putting to much strain on factory parts?
