Post New Member Needs Tire Info

Hello all,

I am a new member here and I am in the process of buying some new tires and was wondering about size. I have been looking at the Goodrich size chart and I came accross the LT265/75 R 16/D and was wondering if anyone here is running these? I have heard they are the largest size that won't rub on a stock 4Runner? Any help for the rookie would be appreciated. Thanks

Dunkster

Dunk,

Yes, you're right...the TALLEST tire that will not rub is: 265/75/16. You can also go for 275/70/16 (which is slightly shorter--in diameter).

BFG AT KO is a great choice. They also come in stock size. I had both. The 265/75/16 did cause noticeable power loss...thus, i went back to stock size.

Go to this sub-forum to read more about tires (many threads on this topic):

Hope this helps.

Talking 275/70 R 16

Thai,

Thanks for the help! I didn't know the 275/70 R16's would fit without rubbing? I may actually opt for that size. I basically would like as much surface area as I can get. With height you always give up noticeable performance as you already found out. Cool forum!
