I know that 265/70-R17's fit.. I am running those in a BFG All-Terrain. its snug, but no rubbing at all! There are other options as to narrower and taller that won't rub, but i am not to sure about those.

Welcome

Welcome to the club. 4Runners are incredible trucks. Make sure you get good tires-they make an incredible difference in ride and handling.

I am putting on 255/75/17 on mine shortly (they are supposed to be the largest diameter with no other mods), and I definitely noticed that the "tall skinnies" are a bit cheaper than the rough equivalent 265/70/17. Actually, I just noticed that you have an SR5, so I believe you have 16" wheels, no?
Goodyear Silent Armor appear to be popular, as do Revos or the always recommended BFG AT tires. If you search, ye shall find.

Here is 255/75/17 on mine before I lifted it, 265/70/17 is probably the biggest I would do on stock suspension. The guy that put on my lift couldn't believe they weren't rubbing. Sorry for the crap pics, I'm no photographer.

My 265/70/R17 Michelin LTX-MS2 tires rub only when the wheel is at full lock and I'm braking. It's not a bad rub, just one that lets you know there's no more room for bigger tires unless you have deeper pockets for a lift.
