Door speaker popping

I have an 04 SE with 10 speaker JBL 6-disc changer. While I'm driving the speaker in the lower driver's door pops on and off. What could be causing this? I went to the dealer but since they couldn't reproduce it they wouldn't do anything about it.

Intermittent problems SUX. A first assessment would be a visual inspection of that speaker. I would remove the door skin and inspect the speaker connector. Maybe it’s half-way connected. The least you can do is unplug it and tug on the wires a bit and re-connect.

Not sure this helps...

Generally when I hear of a speaker that is describe as making a popping sound it think of a broken skin on the speaker. This is more likely the result of some physical damage like an instrument poking into the speaker during maintenance. Given the relative newness of your truck this would be unlikely.

Sometimes also, a peice of paper or other light obeject sitting on the skin of the speaker can reproduce what sounds like a popping sound. Again an unlikely sitaution in your case.

I agree with earlier comments - pull the door skin off and check out the connections and then the condition of the speaker.

Good luck.

Mark

This only happened to me when I was using my IPod with the receiver. It occasionally made a very loud popping sound. I thought the speaks were going to blow. I no longer use the IPOd. Are you using an MP3 players?

Please explain your initial question with more detail. Does ”pop on & off” mean that it momentarily turns on/off or are you experiencing an electrical noise in the form of a “pop” ?

MP3 players and Ipods sometimes does it. Check if it is just a few songs or if it does it al the time when playing the ipod. SOmetimes while ripping music their is bit errors which create popping sounds. On Itunes you can turn on error correction while ripping, do it. If it is a fewsongs delete them and rerecord them with error correction

Grease

I get my balls busted by my friends all the time. Trust me, if i don't take it like a man on a daily basis, i couldn't hang with the crew that i do. But i can give it as well as take it. The benefits of hanging out with italians and irishmen

Oh, you coming to the meet when we have one
