Finally, I installed my body lift and had time to check this mod. I was surprised when discovered that it works perfect in 2wd mode. You do not need to switch it to 4wd and 2wd back to make it work.

So, people buying this will need to acquire the "VSC-off" button, right? Anyone have a decent source?

Thanks!

Right. We might include the button in a pack, but it will not be cost efficient. You can buy it in US much cheaper ...

Please send your contacts privately and I'll get back to you with shipping number.

We need few days to build new block and ship it to you.
I will gladly be the #2 tester if nobody else has stepped up to the plate. I have done a few reviews on other products before, including one on this site for a XenonDepot HID kit that I can link for reference.

I've been looking into this mod for a while and it looks like you have a very complete solution. I agree with you also as far as not having additional lights show that are not necessary or incorrect (the center diff lock light showing locked when it is actually not.)

Just let me know and I would be happy to install and write a detailed review. I have an '03 Limited V8 4WD, for reference to check compatibility.

I thought that V8 owners have ECU with ability to switch off VSC... All you need is to buy a button and install it if you do not have it already.
If not, this mod will definitely work as wiring routine is the same (with small exceptions). I will double check it for V8'2003.

The only item is shipped to rdrunner for now.

As far as I understood there were still some 'loose ends' not accounted for, the wires for the switch are present but once wired in you would also see the diff lock light even though the diff was in fact still open. I could be wrong though.

That would be great if you could double check and see if it would be compatible, I will do a little more research into the mod as well.

Also for reference, here is a link to the HID kit review I did for Steve at XenonDepot:
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/access...tml#post677779

And another review I did (on another forum) for Marco at Billet Engineering & Sean at OS Giken on their TS2B clutch:

so KLIV is saying he thinks just putting the vsc switch & relay in will work with any year v8 ecu? i'd imagine since vvt started in 05 that the ECU would be different than an 03, but curious if the 06-09 were the same. i believe the vsc off switch came out in 08, would be great if it also worked on my 06.

I have no V8 to check, but according to wiring diagram, V8'03 should have Trac off switch (or blue connector to install T7 button at least). This mod will help you as well, but it is better to search for blue connector first. In any case you will have to buy the button, so, you might buy it and try to install into existing connector. If it did not work - this mod would resolve the issue.
I checked that all wires have the same color, so, there should be no problems with mod installation to V8.

I will check for the blue wire this week when I have the time, do you know if installation of factory trac off switch will disable VSC as well? Or do I need your invention to do this?

Thanks!

From my point of view it should work. If it did not - I would help.

I'm interested in this. I have an 05 V8.

2 questions:

1) Am I right in understanding that this mod will cause the dash VSC lights to work correctly while the previous VSC Off, Atrak On mod will not cause the dash lights to work correctly?

2) will this work with an 05 v8?

Thanks
