Messed with some connections and it's working perfect - not sure which was the loose one though - funny how it's usually like that. Anyway this thing works perfect. VSC light comes on and nothing else, when I squeal the tires traction control kicks in but I never hear the beep beep beep and I never loose power - perfect. Note, since the button is not a on/off type of button you have to press and hold the button for only about half a second. You just can't "tap" it and expect it to work.
Love it, thanks Kliv!
Now to go in and continue figuring out my LED flasher issues. Why is my 4runner different than everyone else's? hehe

Awesome news. Rdrunner....and thanks for the detailed write up.
Kliv has a unit in the works for me and I'm looking forward to doing this mod in concert with some other, long-awaited/needed, electrical upgrades.
My dash center piece was also broken in an attempted head-unit theft and I'll be replacing that when I tear everything down....sort of leary of the strip down, but with enough time and enough beer, anything is possible.

So has anyone tried just the getting vsc switch and plugging it in on a v8?? There are some posts on pg. 3 saying that people were going to try it but no feedback

Dear all,
As for now 3 units were built and going to be shipped soon. The only issue happened with electronic money transfer as none of services like PayPal, Amazon, etc allow payments from US to RUS. The funniest thing is that all of them work fine in other direction. I have no idea what stands behind this restriction and hope it will change soon.
As the result, the most acceptable way is Western Union with 10-15$ commission depending on type of payment. Thank you to theben who proved it. Note, that WU commission is the buyer's expense.
Please contact me via PM or mail me [email protected] if you are interested in mod.
There would be discount for several units order.

You said it's for the 03-06 models why won't it work on the 07-09 years?
Thank you

I believe that 07-09 models do not have problems with switching off VSC (according to wiring diagrams).
Manual states that '07 Runners have "Auto LSD" button and '08 Runners have "VSC OFF" button. I though that those buttons switch off VSC without switching off A-TRAC like our unit does.
If so, there is simply no need in the unit.
Am I right?

I have the 2007 limited v6 and I don't have any way to shut off VSC. The wiring diagram indicated that there is an auto lsd button but I have yet to find it. Since it uses the term "auto", I believe that its either a automatic thing or its only part of the 2wd models. I grounded that particular pin (CSW) on the vsc ecu just for giggles and it didn't do anything. I have not been able to shut off vsc without grounding pin EXI on the vsc ecm. Of course the usual diff lock light appears and flashes. I'm curious however, if the bagel mod (AndyModII) would work on the 4th gens. After looking at the wiring diagram, the NEO pin looks to do the same function as the 3rg gen CD pin on the vsc ecu. I'm going to try and build the 5 relays together and see if I can make it work. Its either that or find a used 2008 vsc ecu and vsc off button for big $$$$.

Actually, this mod (and AndyModII) used 07 wiring diagram as base to make VSC off button work. So, if you have no button on your '07 I would be glad to help you to resolve this issue with our unit . It seems that such solution could be useful for early 4th gen as well.

Kliv,
Any chance to see the schematic for your mod. Just to see if you are using a latching relay for a momentary contact switch or is it a toggle switch. Also, I would like to know which wires you are tapping into. Do you have the option in your mod to turn off VSC & Track like the Bagel mod or just VSC? Can you turn on VSC on the fly and off again without any restarts or faults? My VSC ECU is in the engine compartment. I originally thought after reading the posts that your mod was dealing with a VSC ECU that was under the steering.

The main parts in the mod are CPU which keeps the logic and small relay to ground VSC. As for logic, I described it in the install guide at the beginning.
The mod switches off VSC & Trac, but did not switch off A-Trac. You can easily switch on/off the mod whenever you want without errors.
The mod grounds the wire which goes from 4WD ECU to Skid Control ECU. It does not matter where you ground it. For 2004 it is easier to access near Skid Control ECU, but it is possible to ground the wire near 4WD ECU as well. As for 2005, it is easier to access near 4WD ECU as Skid Control ECU is in the engine compartment.
I hope I answered your questions.

Sounds great Kliv, send me the payment information. I would be happy to try this out. I live in Alberta Canada. I would prefer to use PayPal. If that doesn't work then I'm willing to try other options. I will acquire the vsc switch and the connector on my own. I'm sure the cost is less here in Canada. If you could send me via email the instructions specific to a 07 v6, it would be appreciated. My VSC ECU is in the engine compartment and I would prefer to keep all mods inside the vehicle.
Of note, I am mostly interested to use this in 2wd. Just a little bit of snow and ice and vsc pulls power away from the peddle. Not a great situation when you are trying to accelerate onto a busy highway. Having the ability to use this in 4wd without locking the center diff is just a bonus.
If this works Kliv, hats off to you for the great work. Well Done!!

Well I finally found a good batch of time (4 hours) to install mine yesterday. Let me just say the whole transaction was very smooth & shipping from Russia to Vancouver was about 3 weeks, so not too bad.
Anyway, the install went fairly smooth but I did take my time as I didn't want to have to pull it all apart again but that being said I still did cut into a wrong wire (my fault I guess I cant count) behind the dash but realized it & remedied it prior to closing it all up. I ended up soldering all my connections & heat-shrinking them when I could, again cuz I didnt feel like having to pull it apart again for a loose connection.
I ended up finding a momentary "Trac Off" switch off ebay for cheap which fit into the factory spots & looks factory installed. I ended up moving my center diff lock & VSC switch down beside the DAC switch in the center console so I could use the ones up top for light switches. I wanted all the controls grouped together by type & that just seemed to make sense to me.
I havent had to a chance to test it all out but the dash light indicates the VSC is off & can be used in 2wd or 4wd without issues. No issue either when it was on when the truck was shut-off. When you turn the truck back on it resets to normal mode.
Very slick little unit & I am so impressed with the work that you must have done to figure it all out. Way to go Kliv.

DarthSavage, Thanks a lot! Waiting for road test. Hope, you will enjoy it.
Just wanted to mention, that the latest mod I have sent do not look like waterproof. You may find that tube has openings at the ends. That is not a bug! We decided that it is better when the plate is "breathing". Moreover, fresh water cannot do anything with the unit. As for salt water, I hope, you are not going to use the mod on submarines

If I were to go to an electronics store and buy a switch, what kind should I look for to do this mod?
