Don't buy from yotaboy510 !!
Ok so 3 weeks ago, on 4-11-12 I sent yotaboy510 money for the '99 Highlander tall rear coils he advertised for sale.
I offered him $50.00 plus $15.00 shipping.
He wrote me back and said shipping is $23.00
I did a quick shipping estimate on FedEx and sure enough $23.00
No problem....
Being the nice guy I am, I sent him $75.00 ($2.00 more than he asked for)
So the next day he tells me he shipped the springs and he was way off....It was $43.00, not $23.00!
WHAT??
So it turns out, he shipped it through the Post Office Priority Mail. Ok, not sure why he would do that but anyway, I decide just so everyone feels warm and fuzzy, I'm gonna send him the difference once they arrive. (never told him that)
Long story short, the springs were not what he said they were. Stock junk that everyone, including myself already has.
I emailed him right away and he apologized, said he should have verified the colors before shipping, and offered a refund. I responded by saying, everyone makes mistakes and just send me $50.00 instead of the $75.00 I paid.... Even offered to send his springs back if he wanted them, otherwise they would go in the trash with mine. Fair enough right??
A few days go by, no refund so I sent a Paypal request for $50.00
So a couple more days go by and he emails me saying he doesn't want to send me $50.00 because he had to pay part of the shipping.
I wrote back and said, you know what, send $32.00 so you don't lose out on a penny even though you screwed up twice on this deal and we'll just call it a day.
First mistake - Sold me the wrong $hit.
Second mistake - He sent them Priority Mail!! Why?? Not my fault. He quoted me $23.00, and I even verified that with FedEx.
So even though I'm only wanting $32.00 out of the $75.00 I sent him, anyone want to guess how much I got???

Don't deal with David Tran! (yotaboy510)

I'll agree on him being the shady seller here and he's at fault but as a buyer you should have done more research. Don't rely on people to do the research for you (ex: a seller). When it comes down to something as simple as a color code or measurement to define the product I would have been sure to ask, get pics, and do my homework. Sorry you got stiffed, but just be thankful it was only $75.
Not all sellers are bad, so don't let this event discourage you. We've all been there, some worse than others. Just make sure you do all your homework before sending out someone you've never met your cold hard $$.
Good luck.

Paypal won't give you the refund? They're usually pretty good about protecting the buyer.

I agree with all of that. Thanks.
I'm pretty active on other forums and have bought and sold there probably 20 times. Only had one other bad experience, but no big deal.
Some people are straight up, and some are scum bags.
They're all cool as hell, 'till they have your money!
My new rears will hit the dealership today. Can't wait to start installing this pile of parts!

I was a "top rated seller", and a "power seller on eBay" for a few years and I have to say.... PayPal sucks. haha
If the money is not in his PayPal account, they have no way to get it back to you. They certainly won't refund you and go after the money for you.
I he was an active say seller, they would open a case and hold the funds until it's resolved. In that case, there would be money in the account.

Yes they will. I usually never have more than a few bucks in my paypal account. I sold a header for a 22rte motor and the seller got cold feet after he bought it and then he destroyed the studs on it to say I sold him bad parts. He filed a claim with paypal. Paypal gave him his money back and made my paypal account negative. I fought the claim and won and got my money back.
Long story short... OP: I would file a claim with paypal and get ALL of your money back and make the buyer send you money to ship the product back to him.
As for who was right and wrong, I would say it's the sellers fault 100%. It is up to the buyer to do the research and find out what parts he is looking for and it is up to the seller to advertise their parts accurately. Just my .02c
