[shrug] Depends what you want. I don't have or want KDSS, Nav, and running boards that would get torn of by the first rock I scraped over. But if you're not going to go off-road, then yeah I see your point.

Sounds like you're getting a great deal on your Trail.
My FJ had 22K and some change. I wonder how hard it is to temporarily remove the 4Runner running boards on the rare occasion I go offroad. I'm considering the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree in East Texas.

This is the dealer's link trying to sell my old FJ.

3 bolts each side, so it is not too difficult. The running boards are about 13 inches off the ground. I've haven't had a need to remove them on the trails I've driven on, although I don't doubt they'd scrape on tougher trails.

They're asking $4,000 more than what I paid for my brand new 2013 Trail Teams FJ in 2012.

Part of the cost is that they were shipped from Japan...similar to the 4Runner and Land Cruiser. The chicken tax is applied to those vehicles...which is why operations for the Hilux (aka Tacoma) was moved to the states. FJs are pretty negotiable here in Omaha so if anyone is looking for one try to find one around this area. If you need help in negotiations let me know. I'll take a crack at it for ya. Cheers!

Hah, it's a pretty shitty feeling seeing the prices for FJs go up and up and up. Sold mine off in 2011 for 15k with 76k on the odo. Similar ones are getting mid to high 20s, or more, now.

It could've been the best truck ever made if the US didn't hate diesels so much.

This thing with a 3.0 turbo diesel would've been a monster. The current gas V6 sucks...quite literally sucks all the gas and isn't half what it could be with a diesel powerplant under the hood.

Thanks Obama.

We have been looking for one. In the Seattle area the prices are high like I saw a 2014 at a dealer with 50K on it and they wanted more that the original stick which they for some dumb reason show us.

That said, watching the listing they don't seem to be flying off the lots. I keep see the same ones reposted.

Door issue

I liked the FJ, but with 3-doors, it wasn't going to work. I bought a 4Runner instead. My friend looked for a FJ, but never could agree on price with mileage. He bought a new Chevrolet truck. Doesn't know what he's missing.

Scarce my butthole.

The 4Runner is every bit better than the FJC.

I pried open my wallet and bought N-Fab rock rails with removable steps.

This news made me smile. Good for all of you who bought and kept one - you have literally made one of the best auto investments in years.
