Anybody up for running around Eglin next weekend (5/2 or 5/3) as long as the weather's decent?
I'm open to suggestions for other locations if anybody knows of any! I know of a few cool spots on the range, but haven't gotten to explore too much else.

Don't forget your permit!
Sunday works for me!
For those interested:
Just make sure you get a recreation permit before then!!! All you have to do is bring $12 (cash or check) to Jackson Guard. The pass is good for one year. In case you don't know where to go:
Phone: 850-882-4164
Hope to see y'all there!
Also: before we go, we should probably get a list of recovery equipment together to make sure we're covered... I've got a good bit, but a little extra can never hurt...

I'm a greenhorn when it comes to wheeling. I have only been couple times but I do have a strap and my tool box.
Where should we meet Sunday and at what time?

I'm good with any time and place. I'm coming from Shalimar.
I know there's a fun little sandpit area across from Duke Field and a few other roads up there worth running... I've also run around in the Bay Flats Area a bit. It's mostly flat driving with frequent puddles (some of which will eat a 4Runner if you let them)...
Sand pit:
I've got a Hi-Lift with adapters (slider, wheel, axle) and should have a decent snatch rope set-up by then (After cheap tow rope #2 broke, I figured it was time).
Also of note: jackson guard has a map you can download for iphone or android that gives your GPS location. There are a good bit of roads out there, and it's helped me out more than once.

Probably should start a new thread with who's in/meeting time and location. I'm coming from Pensacola. I'm game for anything but deep water lol. I try to keep the old girl out of the deep end! Plan on hitting up Jackson guard Friday afternoon. Do you have to be in the same vehicle as you plan on using for the permit? Lived here most of my life and never had a desire to deal with the rules of the base.

I'm in for next Sunday. I say we meet up at 930-10ish but I'm just in FWB,not pcola.
No you don't need to be in the same car but you will have to watch a boring 15 minute video about bombs that are laying around the reservation haha

Since we got people coming from both directions, how about meeting at the tom thumb at the south end of crestview on 85 around 9:30. Kinda in the middle for everybody, and especially convenient for me, lol!

Sounds like 9:30 at the Tom Thumb works for everybody (unless NWFLBowHunter objects...). He definitely has the longest haul to get up here...
Unless there's a need for a separate thread, I think we're about done here.
Next time we put something together, it probably would be a good idea to start a new one and just send it to folks. Probably my bad...
