i was wondering when one of these threads were gonna pop up. always seems to happen right after i order the same (or almost same) item! DAMMIT!!!! just ordered my FX-R retrofit kit from theretrofitsource.com! cant wait to do to swap.

It does not seem all that hard, I heard in a nutshell you need to remove the headlights from the car, open the headlights and remove the reflector, make a jig to hold the reflector completely still, mark the cutoff of the halogen bulbs on the wall, cut a hole for the projectors and secure them so they are aimed to that same line. Sounds like nothing I cant handle. I'm almost tempted to buy these just show you.

how far would these projectors protrude from the rear of the oem headlight assembly, i.e. would there be any interference fit with regard to the battery on the driver side or the air box on the passenger side?

In a nutshell, that is what you do.
Could you do it? Sure!
However, don't think of it as a simple task. There is a reason people pay other people hundreds and hundreds of dollars to do this. This is the same reason people who do these, and sell them, ask hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

Haha its like a challenge now though! Grrr to bad I just spend 2/3 of my Christmas money a couple days ago. I looked into some other kits on ebay though for like 80-150$ are those legit?
