Over the past few years, I’ve replaced the following as necessary:
- Transmission replaced by Aamco in Wyoming($3200) with the best unit they had available
- Monroe “Quick strut” front strut assemblies(7/2019)
- Monroe OESpectrum rear shock absorbers(7/2019)
- Dorman front lower control arms(7/2019)
- Cardone A-1 power steering rack
- Toyota OEM power steering pump
- Wagner front disc brake pads(7/2019)
- CSP radiator(7/2019)
- battery(5/2018)
- headlights and marker lights(5/2019)
- front differential, rear differential and transfer case fluids @ 238k miles
I’ve used this truck as my daily driver since I purchased it. Over the last 5 years, I’ve commuted back and forth to Florida approximately 20 times and accumulated many miles doing so. This truck has never once broken down or left me stranded on the road. It’s been the most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned. It’s kept in our heated garage, gets washed/waxed/detailed regularly and has never been used “off-road”. I’ve done my best to keep it in as good condition as possible, but remember, it is 15 years old and does have 271,000 miles on it. I have many more pictures that I took today. If there is anything else that you would like to see, just reply and I will get them to you ASAP.
*** The truck will need the timing belt done soon as it was last done at 190k.
I purchased a 2013 Ram 1500 quad-cab with 80k miles and although I like the size and feel of the Toyota better than the Ram, I decided to sell the older and higher mileage truck. I only hope that the Ram will be as dependable as the Toyota, but I’m fairly sure it won’t be. This is my third migh mileage Toyota(200k+ miles) and they are more expensive for a reason. Nothing is built or runs like a Toyota.
*** I have a lift at my shop in Exeter where the truck can be put up in the air for a complete undercarriage inspection. I’ve posted pictures of the rockers to show that there is NO RUST on the truck.
Thanks for looking.
$8,500. I’ve priced the truck well under both NADA and KBB values knowing the maintenance items that need to be done. You will be hard pressed to find another 2005 Tundra in this condition.
