These ball joints are something that I've been working to produce for about a year now, and are made just for me. These will work my hex tube, both old and new! So anyone that bought links from me 2 years ago can replace the heim joints with the sealed ball joint. The studded end is also OEM thread and length, and will have a much better fit. The sealed ball joint is also a solid 1 piece design rather than a design with a welded stud.

Sign me up for the first patch, can't wait to upgrade mine .

Is there a torque spec or suggested tightness for the top nuts on the front end-links for a 3rd gen? I want them to be tight enough but don't want to unnecessarily squeeze the bushings.

Tighten until the have a slight squish to them, but not so much they're bulging out. It's a bit difficult to put a torque spec on bushings since it could be off due to the lock nut.

I'm a Mechanical Engineer myself and am the bolted joint guru (if I do say so myself) at my company. I could provide you with the torque spec for the nylon lock nuts if you provide me with a few unknowns;
1: Thread Size and Pitch
2: Grade of bolt
3: Prevailing Torque of the nylon lock nut. This means use a lower rated torque wrench and find how much torque is required to spin the nut on the threads while engaged with the nylon. Yes, it will vary, but you can get an average if you test enough different combinations.

I'm good, but I greatly appreciate the offer. I will reach out to you for another spec though, and maybe you can help me with that one.

Small update on the new links. My parts are being picked up today 12/18 (finally), and I should have them on Monday 12/21. Once I have them I'll need a couple days to get my site updated, and links built. I'm hoping to have these live on my site by 12/23. I do my best to ship orders within 24 hours, but with the holidays that will change. I will be closed from 12/24 - 12/27 & 12/30 - 1/4 as well.

Mike
